We used a blood DNA test on our dog and it came back 100% Great Pyrenees. He doesn't look like a Pyr, but we found out he is a Catalonian Sheep Dog - sister breed to the Great Pyr. The DNA company did not have the Catalonian in its database so it picked the closest blood relative.
Out of curiosity, we ran one of these saliva based BioPet DNA tests. It came back with a mix of several breeds, none of which were Great Pyr. I would not recommend this product.Get more detail about BioPet DNA Breed Identification Kit.
