We are a blended-cat family. The eldest of the pride (12-year old, neutered male) has always been skittish and he became even more so, once we all moved in together. He used to hide in a relatively unused bedroom, only coming out to eat. We hoped that over time he would calm down and assimilate; but he never did.
I was skeptical at first, and really didn't think this collar would work. We were pleasantly surprised! He has been wearing the collar for approximately three weeks now. He is still a little bit nervous, but he is so much better!
He no longer runs for cover with every sound. He doesn't stay in the back bedroom all the time. He is willing to sleep on the bed with the other cats-at times laying within mere inches of the other. He is much more social and calm. He comes to us for attention and will now allow us to pick him up.
The collar didn't completely cure all of his problems, but I would say that there is probably a 60-70% improvement in his nervous behavior. We are so happy!
This collar does have a scent, but it is not unpleasant.
I would say, for the price, this collar is definitely worth a try. We will be ordering another one soon.
