After my trusty basic trap exploded into pieces (springs finally gave way) I looked at several replacement options. I decided on this one for it's straightforward design and similarity to a traditional trap...and it seems to be just as functional and effective. I put a blob of peanut butter in the 'cup' and set it in a cupboard (I really like the easy set method--no more snapped fingers) and nabbed a mouse the first night. And, while it didn't really play into my purchase decision, I did appreciate the 'hands-off' mouse disposal.
