If your cat (or dog) already has gingivitis also use the Biotene Oral Antisepic gel. The results are amazing.( Biotene makes excellent people products too.) My cats don't mind the taste at all. Brushing is essential to remove the particals that are causing the gingivitis, so ideally if your pet will tolerate it at all, you should brush this product on. For cats I recommend a baby tooth brush. Colgate makes an excellent one, a first tooth brush for babies age 0-2 yrs. Oral B also makes a good one called stage 1 for babies. Just flip yor pet on it's back (if your pet is small enough) on your lap and start brushing. But you should clip thier nails first so don't get scratched.
